Even on a day off…

So, I’d arranged a nice day out with my daughter, my sister and my niece. The plan was to go and see monkeys in their natural surroundings. Ok, so we didn’t quite manage some far flung African jungle, actually it was Stoke, Monkey Forest at Trentham to be exact.

Surely a day admiring Mother Nature would help me forget work for a few hours; actually I spent half of it wondering what Mother Nature was thinking when she designed the monkeys’ back sides.

I thought I had managed to switch off until this sign came into view. Being a good citizen I decided to read it and immediately found fault with it. Any ideas?

Ok, so it’s not technically a fault, more of a lack of editing. Still not got it?

In my opinion, there’s really no need for the first bullet point. If you are ‘at least an arms length’ from the monkeys, your chances of touching them are, presumably, pretty remote.

  • Haha, good point Robert! :o )

However, you could be a well-behaved visitor and decide not to touch the monkeys, but still find yourself within an arm’s reach of them! And I hear they’re not always affectionate if they get a hold of you, lol.

    Enjoying your site,
    Mark.

    Thanks Mark

It’s a good point, unless the monkeys have their own signs saying ‘Touching the humans is prohibited’

If not, a massive game of Monkey Tig could be liable to break out.
