Electrical translation

For one of my many festive period chores, I’ve replaced a rather out-dated spotlight with an ordinary light fitting that I can put an energy efficient bulb in. Whilst idly looking at the package of the bulb I noticed this wonderful attempt at shortcutting on the multilingual information.

By my calculations I now know either 3 or 4 spellings of energy, depending on whether ‘energi’ is allowed.

Incidentally, why the insistence on referring to energy efficient bulbs by this name. I suspect that many cynics would be won over by renaming them as ‘cost saving bulbs.

If you found this interesting/amusing please tell the bits of the world you're connected to. Thank you.

and, just for laughs, here’s the Chinese [traditional]: 能量
